The mother warned everyone not to talk to her before she had her coffee. But now that their son had started to school she felt bad sending him and her husband off without a smile or pleasant word. How could she change? She had never been a morning person. She remembered her dad who said when you wake up, wake up all over; spirit, soul and body. So she decided to at least act pleasant each morning as she prepared breakfast, and helped her son get ready for school. She made a decision to have happy thoughts and praise God before she even got out of bed each morning, and to her surprise she learned that every day could begin with a smile, a glad heart and a happy, joyous spirit.
Prayer:
Father, I come before You rejoicing, for this is the day that You have made and I will rejoice and be glad in it. To obey is better than sacrifice, so I am making a decision to submit to Your will today, that my plans and purposes may be conducted in a manner that will bring honor and glory to You. Cause me to be spiritually and mentally alert in this time of meditation and prayer, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
