Nations in the News
Pray for Afghanistan, Australia, China, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Lesotho, Oman, Sri Lanka, Turkey, and Zimbabwe.
15 Mongolia
Buddhism has a strong hold in Mongolia – and much of this is rooted in even older traditions of using witch doctors and the occult. Pray that Mongolians would find total freedom in following Jesus.
Montserrat
Rebuilding the island, communities and homes will take many years. Pray that in the middle of this uncertainty people will find refuge and hope in Jesus.
16-17 Morocco
We have friends who live in Morocco. Pray that there would be greater freedom for Christians to share their faith and protection for Muslims who want to find out more about Christianity.
18-19 Mozambique
There is a growing Muslim population in the northern and coastal areas of Mozambique. At the moment there are only a few Christians working in this area. Pray that people will be called with a long term commitment to reach these people and understand their culture and needs.
20-21 Myanmar
The military regime has tried to wipe out the Church, but it still continues to grow. Pray that Christians would be able to stay faithful to God as they are persecuted and have courage to share their love of God with others.
22 Namibia
Namibia is a member state of the United Nations (UN), the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the African Union (AU), and the Commonwealth of Nations. As much as 25% of the adult population is infected with AIDS and there are tens of thousands of AIDS orphans.
Nauru
Nauru achieved independence in 1968. … practiced on the island is Christianity (two-thirds Protestant, one-third Roman Catholic) …Pray for unity among the Christians.
23-24 Nepal
A quarter of a million Nepali girls have been sold to work in the sex industry across the border in India. Up to 70% are HIV positive and few of them will live to the age of 25.
25 Netherlands
There is a real growth in the number of independent, charismatic and Pentecostal churches. Pray that these churches would grow in their passion and commitment to God in discipleship and prayer.
26 New Caledonia There are churches in nearly every village – but often Christianity goes along side traditional occult and animist practices. Pray that Christian leaders would have wisdom and discernment to separate out what the Bible teaches us from all the rest of the rubbish holding people back from God.
27 New Zealand
New Zealand is a secular society; people see the church and Christianity as irrelevant. More and more people claim to be of ‘no religion’ and churches are rapidly shrinking and losing their young people. Churches need to understand how to reach out to these ‘post-modern’ generations.
28 Nicaragua
A fifth of the population are committed Christians, active in their faith. Pray that in God’s wisdom and power they can change Nicaragua and oppose corruption.
29 Niger
There is a 1,000 year history of Islam in the Kanuri peoples, pray that missionaries will be equipped to reach these people groups.
30-31 Nigeria
There is a 1,000 year history of Islam in the Kanuri peoples, pray that missionaries will be equipped to reach these people groups.
