PRAYER ASSIGNMENTS FOR JANUARY 2009
January – February 3:
We are entering a new year full of hopes and promises! As we look back and think of all the marvelous answers to prayer over the last year, we can take hope and believe the Lord will be faithful to hear and answer throughout this year as well. Here in the United States we will have a new President and many other new leaders across our nation. It is a time to ask the Lord for his grace and mercy as we face the many challenges in this country.
There are many crises facing our world. The list includes wars, economic problems, changes in leadership around the world, droughts, famines and especially the condition of the children of the world. But, we remember the promises of God’s word to hear and answer us when we call on the name of Jesus. Let us determine to go into this year with a heart full of faith and with the foundation of the Word of God believing to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
I have given you pictures of the different areas of the world we will be praying for throughout the year. You can also do your own research and find maps that are interactive or printable to help you as you pray. May the Holy Spirit direct your prayers.
Psalm 24:1The earth is the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. 2For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. 3Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? 4He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. 5He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. 6This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah. 7Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 8Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. 9Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 10Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.
