Prayers for February 1-9

Reading Ephesians 2 in the Message Bible this morning. My spirit has been stirred as I remember the labor of those who have gone before us…those who have preached and lived the Gospel in many lands. We are connected from generation to generation. “God is using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day—a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home.” Cathedrals have been built to the glory of God, but we are the bricks and stones God is using to build His temple. Peter calls us “lively stones.” We belong to the Kingdom of God, which He has placed within us, and He has called us to be His co-laborers! Amazing!

We are looking for the soon return of our King and Lord, Jesus Christ! He is coming again!
