Question: Why are you changing the name of the “Online Prayer Group” to the “Online Company of Intercessors?”
This is an excellent question. I appreciate that a long-time member of the Word Ministries prayer team asked, “Why use the common word, ‘global,’ relating to spiritual matters?” She shared her concerns. Years ago I learned the importance of listening and considering earnest questions.
Since I learned to read words have been important to me, and I try to choose my words carefully. There are other words that I could have used…international or world-wide. In fact at one time our prayer schools were entitled “International School of Prayer.” Many years ago the word, “global” was written on my mind and heart, and I can’t give you all the reasons or outline here the steps I have taken to making this decision, but I will give a brief answer here.
We are global…we are the church of God that is in many nations, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours (1 Corinthians 1:1-3) The church is located in hamlets, villages, underground, in far-away-places with strange-sounding names. Missionaries have gone…many seeds of righteousness have been sown in many lands, and we should be the church united! We are called to be ONE new man in Christ Jesus.
To walk victoriously through these last days, it is important to be in relationship, willing to listen to one another. I remember going to a counselor several years ago who challenged many of my beliefs.
Over a period of time I prayerfully reviewed the issues we discussed. On some issues the Holy Spirit exposed a stronghold that needed to come down or an area where I needed correction, or a thought that I needed to take captive and bring into obedience to the Word of God. On other issues, the Holy Spirit confirmed and affirmed a belief, giving me greater insight on spiritual and emotional matters. Even today I desire to learn, grow and achieve to the glory of the Father! We are here for such a time as this!
My answer:
Thank you, my friend and prayer partner, for sharing your concerns about the term “global,” which is used freely by many who are opposed to God and His Kingdom. I talked with my husband and together we asked for God’s wisdom. I am always ready to exchange my ideas for God’s! Everette, an engineer, is a watchman on the walls of Word Ministries, Inc. and he looks at all sides of an issue before giving an answer. As we discussed this, the Holy Spirit revealed that this term may be the door-opener for a lost soul who is searching for truth.
As always I believe that God confirms His voice by His Word. “So Paul, standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said: “Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious. For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription, ‘To the unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you. The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man. (Acts 17:22-24)
Paul seized this opportunity to share the Gospel. May we ever be as alert and have a ready answer for those who are seeking for TRUTH!
God has been preparing us for such a time as this…it is time for the church to unite and prepare the way of the Lord. “The earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.) (Habakkuk 2:14) We are co-laborers with God, and have a vital role in ushering in the end-time harvest…
I believe that the Job Principle (Job 42:10) will be released in each nation when the church prays for the church. We are asking God for 100,000 intercessors (pray-ers) who will unite in prayer…together the prayers arise from every nation making a symphony before in the Throne Room. To become a member of the Global Company of Intercessors, you may sign up on our website…www.prayers.org.
Each day you will receive a one-paragraph prayer for the church in a specific nation. “Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].” (James 5:16 AMP)
Soon and very soon we are going to see the King!!
United in prayer we stand!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
