Prayer for a Fired Employee
I pray for ___________________ as he/she leaves this place. I regret that it was necessary to terminate his/her employment with our organization, but feel that there was no alternative.
Now, Father, I pray for this person concerning the future. Help him/her, first of all, to overcome any sense of rejection that he/she might feel. I ask that You minister to him/her and reveal Yourself to him/her, that he/she might know that You are our only security and that by Your Spirit You can help him/her through this painful transition.
Father, I ask You to help him/her not to harbor bitterness, because in the end wrong emotions only hurt the person who harbors them. Help him/her to see this experience as clearly and objectively as possible and to overcome any hurt or embarrassment it might cause.
Father, I ask You to help his/her family during this time of difficulty, awkwardness and embarrassment. Abundantly provide for them, financially as well as mentally and socially. I pray that his/her family will be supportive and that all of them will see this as an opportunity, as a springboard and not a stumbling block to their future. I pray that they will not be discouraged or feel rejected because of it, but that they will set out with fresh vigor—hopeful and expectant for the future.
I pray that this experience will be a turnaround in the life of _______________. If the reason he/she was fired was bad habit patterns he/she had developed or wrong attitudes that he/she had exhibited, quicken his/her heart, minister to him/her that this termination was correction that needed to be made in him/her so that he/she may go forward and be successful in a new position. If this termination came about because the job was incompatible with his/her talents, abilities or desires, I ask You, Father, to open up a new opportunity for him/her where he/she might be truly happy, fulfilled and productive.
Open doors for him/her that no man can shut, and shut doors that no man can open. Give him/her the ability to hear the voice of the Good Shepherd and to pursue his/her career in an excellent manner to the best of his/her ability. I pray that he/she will be in the best position for his/her growth and development and the good of the company that hires him/her.
Thank You, Lord, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
