Preparing a Budget
Lord, I ask for Your help concerning the budget that I must prepare. I recognize, Father, that it is necessary for the proper operation of my department and/or company. I know that it can be a tedious and time-consuming job, so I ask You to help me not to overlook anything that needs to be included or considered.
Using the knowledge that I have, and depending on the leading of the Holy Spirit, I ask You to help me to accurately estimate expenses and income. Show me what I cannot see so I can properly assess our current and future situations. Help me to anticipate unforeseen events so I can determine what our future needs will be and make provision now to meet them.
Lord, help me to view this budget as a management tool, to see it not just as a form to be completed in order to appease the accounting department, but as an accurate presentation of the present and future financial situation of my department and/or company.
Help me to be conservative in my estimation of projected income and judicious in my estimation of projected expenses. Help me to arrive at the most accurate figures possible in the preparation of this vital document.
