Showing Mercy

Father, in the name of Jesus, I am Your child and an imitator of You. You are so rich in mercy that You gave me back my life even though I was spiritually dead and doomed by my sins. It was by Your undeserved favor towards me that I was redeemed and set free. At Your invitation, I pray boldly for mercy for myself and for my associates, competitors, family and friends.
As Your chosen child, holy and dearly loved, I clothe myself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. I bear with others and forgive whatever grievances I may have against them. I forgive as You, Lord, forgave me. And over all these virtues I put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Help me to make allowances for another’s faults, realizing that through gentleness and humility I might help him back onto the right path, while remembering that the next time I may be the one in the wrong.
Help me and my co-workers to share each other’s trouble and problems appropriately. Let us be sure that we are doing our very best, for then we will have the personal satisfaction of work well done and won’t need to compare ourselves with someone else. Each of us must bear some faults and burdens of his own, for none of us is perfect!
Father, I renounce self-righteousness and pride that would cause me to despise others and cut me off from Your mercy. Jesus said that if I am merciful to others, I will be shown mercy. Therefore I choose to manifest mercy.
In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
