To Discuss Remarriage With Your Children

Holy Spirit, before I talk with my children about remarriage, search our hearts, for You know what the mind of the Spirit is, because You make intercession for us according to the will of God. And I know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Father, after my divorce I felt as though I had been carried into exile, but You healed me and brought me back to You with cords and bands of unconditional love. My heart has grown content, but now I believe that it is Your plan for me to remarry. My children and I will go out with joy, and will be led out with peace. The mountains and the hills will break forth into singing before us, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.
Go before our discussion and prepare my children’s hearts to hear. O Lord, give them a heart to understand, and give me the wisdom that I may choose my words wisely.
In the name of Jesus, I have made my plans, but from You, Lord, comes the wise reply of the tongue. Father, thank You for feeding me like a shepherd, and for gathering my children and me with Your arm, carrying us in Your bosom, and gently leading me as I discuss remarriage with them.
In the name of Jesus, I present this request. Amen.
