To Have the Answers to the Questions Your Children Ask

O, my Father, I come into Your throne room asking for mercy and grace. Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts; in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom. Your wisdom will enable me to be straightforward, answering my children’s questions openly and honestly in love. The truth will set us free.
O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known today that You are God in our home, and that I am Your servant. Answer me, O Lord; answer me, so that my children will know that You, O Lord, are God. I pray that my children will know and proclaim, “The Lord—He is God! The Lord—He is God!” (1 Kings 18:39 niv).
My children are distressed about the absence of their father/mother. Lord, help me answer them and give them assurance that You will protect them. Deliver them from shame and condemnation for living in a single-parent home. They are not responsible for the mistakes we (their parents) have made. I will answer wisely, restraining my lips, for in the multitude of words sin is not lacking.
Thank You for Your grace, which is sufficient to give me a gentle answer that turns away wrath. As a man/woman in right standing with You, I will weigh my answers. My conversation will be full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that I may know how to answer my children with gentleness. It is in the name of Jesus that I pray. Amen.
