Let me encourage you to not only focus on the powerful words in this psalm but to meditate on the imagery as well. You also may want to include your family and loved ones in this prayer of safety.
Prayer
Father, sometimes it seems easier to depress than deal with personal issues, but I come before You today affirming that I sit enthroned under the shadow of Shaddai. You are the God of the Mountain, God the Destroyer of Enemies, God the Self-Sufficient One, God the Nurturer of Babies and God the Almighty. I am hidden in the strength of You, God Most High. You are the hope that holds me and the stronghold to shelter me, the only God for me, and You are my great confidence.
I do not have to submit to anxiety attacks because You rescue me from every hidden trap of the enemy, and You will protect me from false accusation and any deadly curse or poisoned arrows. Your massive arms are wrapped around me, protecting me. I can run under Your covering of majesty and hide. Your arms of faithfulness are a shield keeping me from harm.
I will never worry about an attack of demonic forces at night nor fear a spirit of darkness of depression and anxiety coming against me. I resist the temptation to be afraid. Your protection and faithfulness are my bodyguards. Evil can’t get close to me. Harm can’t get through the door. Those who go to God Most High for safety will be protected by God All-Powerful.
You are my hope, and I trust in You as my only protection. This I pray in the name of Jesus.
