A New Relationship

Although I accepted Jesus as my Savior at the age of twelve, I did not know him. “I didn’t want to go to hell” was my motivation for making that walk down the aisle. From the teachings of the Old Testament I had formed an image of a punitive Being that expected perfection.
God used the desire, a grace gift, He imparted to me before the foundation of the world to draw me to Himself! My life began at the age of six when the letters of the alphabet turned into words. I could read, I could read! Words became my best friends; I lived within the pages of books! I tried to read the Bible, but found it laborious reading until the day I fell in love with Jesus! Grace, God’s grace filled me with an insatiable desire to read the Bible. The more I read, the more I wanted to read! I discovered a new life, a new relationship in the Presence of a Living Book…a love letter God had written to me and for me! As I lived within the Gospels I discovered a Heavenly Father who loves you and me unconditionally! There’s nothing like living in the Presence of a loving Father!

Father, you opened my eyes, my night turned to day. When I received Jesus, I received you because you are one with him. Now I see what kind of love you have given to me that I should be called a child of God; and so I am. The reason why the world does not know me is that it did not know you. Thank you for giving me the power and authority to be your child, and what I will be has not yet appeared; but I know that when you appear I shall be like you, because I shall see you as you are! In the powerful name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior! Amen
