A Second New Beginning

Have you ever longed to start over? Have you tried to be perfect and do everything perfectly? You may be climbing that ladder of perfectionism…trying to be good enough to receive God’s blessings. I climbed ladder after ladder of perfectionism, and there was always another ladder to climb. Is there such a thing as a second chance or is it a dream that never happens? I have good news to bring. Jesus will set you free, and if you make a mistake…He is greater than your mistake. I’m so glad that Jesus set me free! It is so simple…only believe, only believe in the Son of the Living God. You can live a new life by the glorious power of the Father. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new (2 Cor. 5:17). God doesn’t just patch you up; He makes you brand new. Let go of the past, put off the old and put on the new man created in Christ Jesus. It is a process, but in Christ there is a new beginning with each day! Yesterday is gone…tomorrow is here!
Father, I thank you for loving me and providing salvation. Thank you for delivering me from the power and dominion of sin, and bringing me into a safe place. You have saved me because of your mercy, through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. It is by grace that I have been saved, through faith – and this is not from myself, it is the gift of God. Now that I belong to you, teach me obedience to the Holy Spirit’s instructions that I might walk in newness of life. Jesus, you are the Author and Finisher of my faith, and I offer this prayer of thanksgiving in your name. Amen.
