The New Year Has Begun
Remember the Bible reading plan you chose a few days ago and the New Year’s resolutions you made? It’s only the second day of the New Year, and already you are running to catch up. HELP! There is One who is always present, and He is a present help in time of need. He knew you and chose you before the foundation of the world. He loved you so much that He saw you existing on Dead-End Street mired up to your neck in the pit of depression. Procrastination dogged you and regrets from the past held you prisoner. BUT GOD! He forged out paths that He planned for you to walk. The Holy Spirit came along side and pursued you whether you walked on Jupiter and Mars or descended into the depths of the sea. He had already done everything necessary to rescue you from that dead-end alley and the dark dungeon of depression. He has set you up in the kingdom of the Son he loves so much, the Son who got you out of the pit you were in, got rid of the sins you were doomed to keep repeating. Another New Year has begun!!
Prayer
Father, I cried out to You, and You answered me. You delivered me from darkness and translated me into the Kingdom of Light; the Kingdom of Your dear Son. Were it not for You my world would be falling apart, but You were there before any of it came into existence and You are holding it all together right up to this moment. You *“untied things that were knotted together and tied up things that were still dangling loose.” Jesus, You were supreme in the beginning and You are supreme in the end. From beginning to end You tower far above everything, everyone. You continue to fix all the broken and dislocated pieces of my life and are fitting them together in vibrant harmonies, all because of Your death, Your blood that poured down from the Cross. I have seen Jesus and by faith I look at You and see the God who planned for me before the foundation of the world. Thank you for opening my eyes to your original purpose in everything created. Amen
