A New Generation
On this day in 1956 we drove to the hospital where David Wayne Copeland was born. Our first born; there would be another generation of Copeland’s! Nothing prepared me for the eighteen (18) months of interrupted sleep! Our son was asthmatic and many nights I slept sitting up with him on my shoulder so he could breath. His dad and I followed doctors’ instructions…made his room as dust-free as possible, but there were nights when my husband rushed him to emergency One day while my parents were visiting David had a severe attack. His grandparents were moved with compassion. Laying their hands on him, they prayed the prayer of faith and he was healed. A physical hurdle had been overcome by the power of prayer. But before he graduated high school David began a lifestyle of addictions. There followed 28 pain-filled years. But God! David says he can take you to the place where the Lord saved him…where he was born again by the Word of the Living God. He is now a remarkable Christian man, serving the Lord as vice president in charge of operations for Word Ministries, Inc. in Monroe Georgia. To God be the glory great things He has done!
PRAYER:
Father-God, You have set before me life and death, blessing and curses. As the head of this new and upcoming generation I choose life that we may live. I honor Your name…that name that is above all names. I know, recognize, and understand that You are the Lord my God, You are God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love and mercy with those who love You and keep Your commandments, to a thousand generations. I love You because You first loved me. We are your people, the sheep of your pasture, and we will give thanks to you forever, from generation to generation we will recount your praise. Father, I am sure of this, that You who began a good work in this family will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. I offer You praise in the name of Jesus my Lord. Amen
