A New Call
The Word Ministries prayer team and I were on a prayer tour in North Africa. We had stopped in one of my favorite places to shop. We piled out of the car, stretched our legs and had an afternoon cup of coffee at one of the cafes. Sitting outside we enjoyed the view, and watched people as they walked by. Feeling refreshed, we crawled back in the car and soon left the village behind. Our host and driver made his way up the mountain road where we would be free to pray. A November mist draped itself over us as we responded to the grace of God that had called us here to pray, and demonstrate His love to some of the most hospitable people I have ever met. Just as we began praying for the people of the nation we heard the eerie sound of the Muslim call to prayer filling the air. Faithful men came from all sections of the town and entered the mosque for the mid-afternoon prayers. According to their tradition they kneel in respectful reference to pray. I thank of our host who requested we pray for the Imams; pray for the leaders of the areas where we visited. Lord, fill our hearts with the fire of your love, and let me see with your eyes of love and compassion.
PRAYER:
Holy Spirit, help us pray the intercession of Jesus who is able to save to the uttermost all of Africa. Jesus, we unite with our family around the globe. We are the church, and we are in agreement with Your intercession for the people of this vast continent. We are thankful for them and pray that all will be saved and come to the knowledge of the Truth. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. We earnestly ask You, Lord of the harvest, to send out laborers into these fields which are white unto harvest. In Jesus’ Name we bind their minds to the mind of Christ and pray that they will walk in wisdom and humility. Give spiritual strategy and cultural insight to Your laborers as they proclaim: The LORD our God is one LORD! We praise You and worship You in the beauty of holiness! We offer this prayer in the Name of Jesus!
