Love is Peaceful

In the fall of 2008 our prayer team was on tour in North Africa. In the last resort where we stayed on the Mediterranean Sea David had four nights to cultivate a dialogue with the hotel dining room manager, staff and other guests. They discussed many things learning about each other’s culture and why Americans would come to their country. One night at the end of a conversation the Tunisian told David all we want is peace. That’s the heart cry of people from around the world. I remember those years I sought for peace – peace with myself and with God. I’ll never forget the day when my inner turmoil was transformed and I began reading the Bible. In John 14:27 Jesus said, Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.] Jesus Himself is our peace.

Prayer:
Father, you alone are my Strength, my Rock, my Fortress, my Deliverer and my Shield. Jesus, You revealed the love of God to me and You are my peace. Your Word declares that my enemies will not triumphant over me. When my ways are pleasing to you, Lord, you make my enemies to be at peace with me. Lord, you are my Shepherd who prepares a table of abundance for me in the presence of my enemies, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
