Praying the Word
The Master Creator, the God of the universe wants to walk with you and talk with you. He has given you a language that is creative and powerful enough to open the heavens and release His glory, His majesty. Nothing that occurs on your journey through life comes as a surprise to your Heavenly Father; He uses everything to complete His work that He has begun in you. You are His masterpiece!
God sent the Holy Spirit to you; He not only walks with you, He abides in you. When you have done all you know to do and feel like giving up, the Holy Spirit is present to strengthen you. When your faith seems exhausted, He activates the faith of the Son of God that abides in you. He lifts you up; He leads you into a place of rest and peace that passes understanding. He never leaves you without support. He gives you the courage to approach a Holy God who is present to hear you when you pray.
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him (1 John 5:14-15 NKJV). How can you know God’s Will? His Word is His Will, and if His Word abides in you, and you abide in Him, you can ask what you desire and it shall be done for you. (Read John 15:7)
When your enemy would have you believe that you are insignificant, the Word of God is powerful enough to expose misbeliefs about who you are. Your life is significant, you are chosen by God to be His very own, and you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Depression, self-pity and fear lie to you, but God gives you the courage to overcome. The Word of God is Hope, the Word of God is health, and the Word of God assures you that the sun will rise again.
The Word of God is not just words written on a page or a history book. His Word is so powerful and creative that the universe with its planets, sun, moon and stars was framed by it. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible (Hebrews 11:3 NKJV). The Word of God is creative, and is still creating today.
When you speak the Word of God, you are using a very powerful weapon. It is a quick, sharp, powerful weapon that divides light and darkness. For the word of God is quick powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (KJV). Jesus, the Son of man, is described as having a sharp, double-edged sword coming out of His mouth.
When you speak in agreement with God’s Word concerning those things that concern you, your words are spirit and life. In John 6:63 Jesus said that the Spirit gives life, the flesh counts for nothing. The words, which He spoke, were spirit and life. When you pray Scriptural prayers, you are speaking the Word of God (His Will) as revealed by His Son, Jesus Christ. His words become your words, releasing the power of God to do above and beyond anything you ask. When you pray Scriptural prayers, you are speaking words that are spirit and life; your faith is increased. Scriptural prayers are quick (alive) powerful and sharper than any double-edged sword.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. All authority of heaven and earth has been given to Jesus, the Head of the Body, and you are a joint heir with Him. When you pray His Word of Truth, your words carry the weight of the authority of His kingdom, His Word and His unchangeable promises.
The Word of Truth that is near you, in your mouth and in your heart is powerful and unchanging. The Holy Spirit helps you pray when you pray in agreement with Jesus. He and Jesus are two powerful Intercessors who cannot fail! God watches over His Word to perform it. His Word will never wither or fade away. God’s Word is sure and stands forever! He had men to write His thoughts and His ways so that you would learn how He thinks and you can learn His ways. The more you learn, the more you trust Him and the more you love Him because He first loved you.
God hears you and God will answer your prayer according to His will, His purpose and His plan for you!
