Husbands

Father, in the beginning You provided a partner for man. Now I have found a wife to be my partner, and I have obtained favor from the Lord. I will not let mercy and truth forsake me. I bind them around my neck and write them on the tablet of my heart, and so I find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man.
In the name of Jesus, I purpose to provide leadership to my wife the way Christ does to His Church, not by domineering, but by cherishing. I will go all out in my love for her, exactly as Christ did for the Church — a love marked by giving, not getting. We are the Body of Christ, and when I love my wife, I love myself.
It is my desire to give my wife what is due her, and I purpose to share my personal rights with her. Father, I am neither anxious nor intimidated, but I am a good husband to my wife. I honor her and delight in her. In the new life of God’s grace, we are equals. I purpose to treat my wife as an equal so that our prayers will be answered.
Lord, I delight greatly in Your commandments, and my descendants will be mighty on earth, and the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in our house, and my righteousness will endure forever. In the name of Jesus, amen.
