To Use Discretion

Father, I thank You for the virtue of discretion.
Lord, You give me knowledge and discretion. Discretion protects me, and understanding guards me.
I preserve sound judgment and discernment; I will not let them out of my sight; they will be life for me, and an ornament to grace my neck. Then I will go on my way in safety, and my foot will not stumble; when I lie down, I will not be afraid; when I lie down, my sleep will be sweet. I have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for You, Lord, will be my confidence and will keep my foot from being snared.
Father, I pay attention to Your wisdom, and listen well to Your words of insight, that I may maintain discretion and my lips may preserve knowledge. Godly discretion defers anger and gives me patience; it enables me to overlook an offense.
Father, You are my God and my Teacher; You instruct me in discretion.
All this comes from You, the Lord Almighty. You are wonderful in counsel and magnificent in wisdom. Praise the Lord!
In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
