Father-God, I ask myself, Why am I down in the dumps, my dear soul? Why am I crying the blues? I will no longer. I will choose to fix my eyes on God and begin praising again. I have plenty of reason to praise You, Father, for all You do for me. Despite all my emotions, I will believe and praise You—the One who saves me! You are my help! You put a smile on my face. You are MY GOD.
Father, as I look truly and carefully around me, I see that darkness blankets the earth; people all over are cloaked and sunken in darkness. But Father, Your Word says that You arise and shine on me. So I arise! I put my face in the sunlight, for Your light has broken through!
God, You have done everything You promised, and I’m thanking You with all my heart.
You pulled me from the brink of death, my feet from the cliff-edge of doom. You keep my feet from stumbling so I can walk before You bathed in life-giving light. I stroll at leisure with You in the sunlit fields of life.
