Prayer
Father, I never expected the death of my ______ to be so complex and difficult. There’s no one who can heal this pain except You. I feel as though I can’t go on, but I know that You are with me. Your rod and staff comfort me. When my emotions overwhelm me and I feel drained of energy, You alone are my Strength. The road ahead seems dark, and sometimes I feel so alone. How long will this sadness weigh me down? How do I get through this time in my life?
Lord, even though my feelings are jumbled up and I don’t what to pray, You know my thoughts. Thank You for the Holy Spirit who is my Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby. I am in the valley of the shadow of death, and I’ve never experienced anything so final. Although I feel so alone, I remember that You will never forsake me and never leave me without support.
I know You are always near. I choose to focus on You, my faithful God. I ask You to infuse me with Your strength and help me in every situation. Hold me firmly with Your victorious right hand.
