Signs of Springtime Bring Hope

Daily Prayer for March 1

This morning I am reminded that springtime is almost here, and hope is alive and well. As I look out at the light removing the shadows of the dawn, I am reminded of the teachings and religious environment that controlled my decisions for many years. Caught between a generation of subservient women and the rise of feminism, I remembered trying to fit the “mold” society and religion had carved out for me. While enjoying the scene outside my window there appeared to be a stand of trees forming an island in the middle of the lake.  The light of day erased the island and the water was dancing and sparkling with light. My godly imagination went into action. My mind was one huge island densely populated with trees of man-made doctrines and dogma. I waited before the Lord, watching in amazement as the grace and the knowledge of Jesus Christ began to uproot and destroy the trees one by one. The old beliefs disappeared…the dark trees and the shadows were gone! God didn’t create anything second-class or as an after-thought. He had planned for me, a woman, before the foundation of the world! Light shined on my misconceptions about God, my self-rejection and my supposed need for man’s approval. Lord, teach me to walk in wisdom! “Because of Calvary, we are being changed into Christ’s image so male and female can walk together in their own realms of authority. Husband and wife, male and female preachers, man and woman lay leaders will walk in the cool of the day with Jesus, who is talking to us, fellowshipping with us, giving us authority, and changing us into His image…As God delivers His church from the bondage of tradition and culture–and from fallen man’s doctrine of divine order–we will see men and women function together to build godly homes and fulfill God’s purpose for the building of His kingdom.” (Fuchsia Pickett in Women of Destiny Bible)

PRAYER
Good morning, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Thank you for this day — the day You have made. I love you with my entire being — spirit, soul and body. It is amazing that You knew me before I was formed within my mother’s womb…that before I was born You set me apart and appointed me as Your witness to the world. You were always there, even when I turned my back and walked away. You waited for me to say yes to the newness of life. Thank You for not giving up on me. You help me to listen to the Holy Spirit who is revealing the truth of who Jesus is, for showing me things to come, and helping me fulfill my destiny to the glory of the Father. Amen.
